The Balloon (Synopsis)

A 6 year ld boy gets a balloon while out shopping with his mother. He would rather be somewhere else playing with his friends or his new toy, but instead, he is being dragged around town by his mother. In his boredom, he begins to imagine himself in different places, different environments and different situations. His companion on his adventure is the simple balloon he got at the beginning of the story. He first imagines he is traveling out of the city on a hot air balloon. He soars over the country side looking at all of the amazing sights down below. Next, he is a commander of a fleet of spaceships and the balloon is his second in command. They are traveling through space on their way to defeat an evil alien. They defeat the alien but he is snapped back into reality by his mother trying to get him to hurry up. He then imagines he is a football player and the balloon is the football. He is running down the field to score the winning touchdown. He is so happy he begins to hug the balloon but sadly it pops, leaving him alone again. But in the end, he remembers the happy moments he spent with the balloon and walk off hand in hand with his mother.
